Introduction to Career Exploration!

Explore Yourself. Explore Careers.

Cave Explorer

Overview:
Are you unsure how to help your teen prepare for life after homeschool?

Have your teen take a 10-week introduction to career exploration course! In this course, your teen will explore their sense of meaning/purpose by exploring: Values, Interests, Life Roles, Personality, Social/Cultural Influences, Spirituality, and more!

Your teen will simultaneously learn about careers that connect their sense of meaning and purpose in life. The class includes a book by Kirk Thiemann PhD titled Finding Purpose and Meaning in Your Career. This book is user friendly, includes activities for application of readings at the end of each chapter, and will be the guide for the class.

Each class is either 1-on-1 or is composed of approximately 6-8 students maximum. The individual classes are ideal for personal exploration, but the group classes can also be helpful to learn from and with peers. The group classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The next group class starts August 2025 with more courses to roll out during the 2025-2026 academic year.

Outcome:
At the end of the course, the goal is for your teen to have a list of 3-5 serious and meaningful career considerations as well as plans to connect with at least 1 professional in a career field of interest.

Why work with Kirk?
